SOLVED configuration manager cannot connect to the site

Recently my Configuration manager will not connect to the site from my Corporate laptop. (Windows 10 ENT)

This issue has surfaced before but mysteriously fixes it's self but it can be weeks
I believe this maybe related to a recent patch but I'm not certain.
One other administrator is experiencing this issue but his hasn't worked for weeks.
As a work around I can login to our Corp VDI and Config manager works as expected.
I pulled the installer from the server and the version on the VDI VM is the same.
I verified the WMI is consistent winmgmt /verifyrepository
I can connect to the server on the VDI with wbemtest but I can not on my laptop. 0x800706ba The RPC server is unavailable
Other Admins can connect from their laptops on the same network, so I don't think it's the firewall. It has worked in the recent past and no changes were made to the firewall.
I have verified the Service is running.
I tried the IP address and it doesn't work. I flushed the DNS anyway.

And of course once I post to this site the issue gets resolved by a Windows Update being applied by restarting. Doesn't explain why this is happening randomly. I think our SCCM server WSUS deployment needs to be totally reconfigured, but that's for the Server Admins, not for this lowly Desktop Administrator.
