I am running with Windows Server 2008 R2 64-bit standard OS. The physical memory installed in server is 64 GB and showing properly but it is giving only 32GB as usable. Please support me on the same.

What troubleshooting have you done? You know Win 2k8 is long out of support, right?

First, I have restore the backup of same running server to our spare server, then dismantle all RAMs from server and then reinstall in spare server, but same status of RAM, I am getting. Please support me on the same.

Previously, I was using whole 64GB RAM, but suddenly, how the RAM got limited. Neither our server connected with internet, nor we have installed any update or window update. Please explain.

And how do you know that the RAM is good. At the end of the day this server must be really old and it would be best to start with a new server and new OS.

Exactly what version of Windows 2008 are you running? Why don't you upgrade this server to a modern server and OS?

Actually this is our most crucial data center for receiving data from electrical field and server is running with windows server 2008 R2.

Please understand my point, previously, the server was running with 64GB RAM and OS is Windows Server 2008 R2 standard 64-bit, but suddenly what happened, the RAM got limited to 32GB. While my server is running totally standalone and also not connected with internet world. So, how is this possible the OS got update and do itself limited the RAM only up to 32GB. If it is possible that standalone OS can limit the RAM usability then why it is only 32GB, not other value like 40GB or 48GB. Please specify.

The RAM did not get limited, the server has got 64 GB RAM, as we know. It's just that your Windows Server is only showing 32 GB memory.

HI,
I´ve been in exactly same situation, what I did was install an datacenter/entreprise license and now all the RAM was presented to the OS.
