SOLVED Task Sequence Error 0x80004005 - Cannot find smsts.log

Hi everyone,

I saw several posts about this issue in this forum but no one solution didnt help me



It is a VM on Vmware:
SCCM - 1802
DP - in HTTPS mode (mb problem with ti but also i cannot find solution)
Drivers are imported
Network Access Account - configured
Task Sequence Created and deployed to Unknown Computers
Boot Image - updated for the last

I did everything what needed to deploy OS

Also i cannot start command prompt with F8 (didnt work) so i cannot read log file, if u help with it , it will be great!

Unless you send us the log file, troubleshooting is very difficult. 0x80004005 is a generic error and you somehow need to grab smsts.log file from failed deployment.

Second, sorry for stupid question, i understood that it is very unskill, but i wast a lot of time to resolve it myself.


What the issue, when i cannot open Command Prompt with F8 in WPE? What i do wrong?)

Have you enabled command support on both the boot images. Right click Boot Image (X64) and click on Properties. Click on Customization tab and check the box Enable Command Support (testing only). Click on Apply. Refer the below guide if required.

in advance, want to note that in our system HTTPS must be enabled, and what i found in log file tell me that problem with a CRL, i used ur instructions to configure CCM working in HTTPS, and everything worked perfectly until this moment

The error clearly says you have set an incorrect certificate under IIS > default website > HTTPS. Follow the steps mentioned at the end of this post - https://prajwaldesai.com/sccm-osd-error-socket-connect-failed-8007274d/

I checked all certificates what i import in SCCM and IIS, all are correct. Olso i used all ur manualls how to create and employ certificates
