why would you deploy a task sequence for an update ? do you have WSUS enabled ? if yes then sccm will deploy updates and on the deployment properties you can enable shutdown or restart.I was wondering: will be it possible that a task sequence (es: OS update) starts when a client PC shutdown (or restart)?
First of all I am not an expert so thank you very much for your help.
We used the task sequence for windows update because I have been told when the update is substantial (es: from 20H2 to 21H2) if components are missing on the machine, the update will fails.
The reason I am doing this unusual request is because in some circumstances when a tasksequence is deployed and the user for different reasons is forced to use the PC the installation fails.
To avoind that will be easer start (request) the tasksequence installation when the user turns off the PC that means when the pc is potentially available for the installation.
