SOLVED SCCM WSUS Sync time out

Hi All,

About a month ago my SMS_WSUS_SYNC_MANAGER started timing out. Before that it would complete in about 4 minutes, every time it ran. Now it's reaching over 5 minutes, and it seems theres some sort of timeout setting that's killing it every time. Does anyone know where this setting is to change the timeout duration?

Error: 6703

WSUS Synchronization failed.
Message: The operation has timed out.
Source: Microsoft.UpdateServices.Internal.DatabaseAccess.ApiRemotingCompressionProxy.GetWebResponse.

Do you use proxy server in your setup ?. Did you check with your network team to see if firewall is doing something here ?.

HI Prajwal,

I did do that. There were no issues on the firewall. I tried a lot of troubleshooting, but could not resolve the issue. Eventually I reinstalled my complete environment. I used it as an exercise to upgrade my OS and SQL to 2016 at the same time. The new install is working fine. Just having a small issue getting my ADR's for server and workstations patches working, but all else looks good for now.
