PENDING SCCM Third-Party Updates Client Issue

Hi,

We've been using Third-Party updates in SCCM to deploy Adobe Reader and Adobe Acrobat updates across our Windows 10 estate for some time now.

We're now rolling out Windows 11, and the Third Party Software Updates are failing on our clients. Other Software Updates - OS cumulative updates, Edge updates, M365 updates are deploying to the same clients without any issues. The overall error is "Failed to installed update(s)" with error code 0x80070005, error description Unknown Error (-2147024891).

I've checked all the obvious things - the update catalog is syncing fine, the certificates for Adobe and the self-signed WSUS cert are all approved in the console. The client settings to enable third-party updates have been pushed to Win11 clients, and the WSUS self-signed certificate is present on the Win11 clients.

Just feeding back; I can workaround this issue by deploying the Adobe Reader update file (.msp) as an application, checking the executable version for the Detection Method - I've tested that this morning on our Windows 11 clients and it is successful.

However if anyone can shed any light or give me any pointers on why this isn't working on Windows 11 using Third Party Updates in SCCM I'd appreciate it :-)
