SOLVED SCCM (SQL Express)

Hi Pajwal,

Hope you are doing well, I would like to Thank for your excellent document. I would like to ask something related to SCCM 2012 R2.
As we know SQL is required to support SCCM. I am going to install SCCM2012 R2 in my server, can we install SQL express 2012 or we need SQL 2012 Server.

This article explains everything nicely. You can only use SQL Express for secondary sites.

Also take note of the differences between using SQL Standard or Enterprise version. You'll get more out of the Enterprise version, but depending on your topology and number of clients to support the Standard version might do.

SQL express editions are used for lightweight Web Sites and desktop applications. So i would recommend to use the SQL 2012 Server STD/ENT editions for SCCM 2012 R2.
