Hi,

I have few questions regarding SCCM, appreciate if you could enlighten me.

1) If we rename a computer which already has SCCM agent installed, will it be automatically reflected in the admin console? Is there any way we could force it to be reflected?
2) I have an issue with few of servers/workstations not reported as ONLINE in SCCM (all this PC not in the same IP segment as the MP, but the boundaries all has been defined well). Everytime I checked in the Control Panel -> Configuration Manager -> Components tab, I noticed that CCM Notification Agent component is "Disabled". Any way to enable this service because I think this is what responsible to report back to MP that the client is ONLINE.
3) Why "Configuration Manager Remote Control" service always in Disabled state in the OFFLINE client? But in the ONLINE client, this service is RUNNING.
4) Is it possible to use HTTPS protocol for client<->sccm, client <->dp/sup, sccm<->sccm system server by using the "SMS Issuing" certificate that was exported from the site server and imported in all SCCM client/ SCCM system server (by means of GPO)? As we don't have the PKI infra in our environment
5) Is port 10123 only need to be opened at MP or it need to be open in CLIENT as well?

Regards,
Qafikh

I have an issue with few of servers/workstations not reported as ONLINE in SCCM (all this PC not in the same IP segment as the MP, but the boundaries all has been defined well). Every time I checked in the Control Panel -> Configuration Manager -> Components tab, I noticed that CCM Notification Agent component is "Disabled". Any way to enable this service because I think this is what responsible to report back to MP that the client is ONLINE - There is no fixed solution to this. Examine the client logs for this.

Why "Configuration Manager Remote Control" service always in Disabled state in the OFFLINE client? But in the ONLINE client, this service is RUNNING - Probably the client agent is not initialized properly. Go to client properties > actions tab and confirm if you see all the action cycles. Again, examine the log files.

Is it possible to use HTTPS protocol for client<->sccm, client <->dp/sup, sccm<->sccm system server by using the "SMS Issuing" certificate that was exported from the site server and imported in all SCCM client/ SCCM system server (by means of GPO)? As we don't have the PKI infra in our environment - Nope, go with PKI and implement it across the estate.

Is port 10123 only need to be opened at MP or it need to be open in CLIENT as well? - I guess both.
