Hello everybody,
we already had a WSUS-Server as SUP connected to our SCCM. We set up a new WSUS with a MS SQL-Database and now SSL enabled. Since then I am struggling with several Problems which I got fixed except of one:

The WSUS says, that it synced correctly but my Component "SMS_WSUS_SYNC_MANAGER" is always on Error with the following Error:
1731654024383.png

Translated from german into english:
Code:
SMS_WSUS_SYNC_MANAGER 6703 WSUS synchronization failed. Message: Operation timed out. Source: Microsoft.UpdateServices.Internal.DatabaseAccess.ApiRemotingCompressionProxy.GetWebResponse.

I already checked these Things:
- Cleaned up WSUS with the Cleanup-Wizard
- Checked, that the Application Pool in the IIS is running
- Checked all Certificates
- Checked, if the Proxy is able to connect to Microsoft via our Proxy
- Checked the Sync- and Cleanup-Options in SCCM

Could somebody please help me with this Error? Our Clients, as far as I can tell, are receiving the Updates via SCCM but aren't able to donwload/install them.
EDIT: Clients are getting this Error in the "UpdatesDeployment.log":
Code:
GetUpdateInfo - failed to get targeted update, error = 0x87d00215.

Thanks in advance.

Greetings

Max

Failed to get targeted update error = 0x87d00215. 0x87d00215, it means "Item not found". Do you have enough disk space on the remote DP? No Maintenance Windows on the device collection?

Hello @Prajwal Desai and thanks for your Response.

We do not have a Maintenance Windows configured. Also the DP got ~900GB of free Space.

Hi guys, did you find a solution to this problem ? I'm also struggling with this problem, I created a new DP, set the boundary nicely and the updates don't appear in software center. Failed to get targeted update, error = 0x87d00215

I noticed in the "locationservices" log that it requests "WSUSLocationRequest".
However, it does not get any such entries back, as in the case of a working machine connected to the SCCM server (It is both sup and management point) based on boundary not DP

This is what I mean :
LS Request CorrelationID {FFC198F7-FC46-437A-9FE5-A5D8CD0E47E5} - Calling back with the following WSUS locations for request {912B9331-F050-440A-9885-DEA4D49E41E8}

LS Request CorrelationID {FFC198F7-FC46-437A-9FE5-A5D8CD0E47E5} - WSUS Path='http://xyyx.group.local:8530', Server='xyyx.GROUP.LOCAL', Version='1515', LocalityEx='BOUNDARYGROUP', SUPFallbackIn='0'

I don't know what the problem is, can anyone help ?
Thanks in advance.

I am having this problem also. It only happening on an image we got from NCR, WMI seems to be the culprit but I can not for the life of me figure out how to fix it. All the WMI commands to verify consistency and reregister MOF's does nothing in terms of fixing the issue.
