PENDING SCCM DP Not working. SMS_DISTRIBUTION_MANAGER in Critical Status Can not create Virtual Directory

I am ripping my hair out trying to figure this out. Uninstalled DP Reinstalled DP to no avail. IIS is working but it looks like it did not recreate the SMS_DP... stuff. The application pool is there but when I go to recreate the application or virtual directory, IIS balks at the $ in the name. I am fairly new to SCCM. It is weird though, my servers have upgraded the client automatically.
I have other errors in the Event Viewer but all point to can not cerate the virtual directory. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
