Recently came across that the devices for one of the agencies we help manage are not automatically updating their SCCM clients.
Sidenote that we are a hybrid environment and a vast portion of our devices that we provision are done through Autopilot. The agency in question is not AzureAD connected yet but we plan on getting that completed sometime this year.
From what we are seeing, their devices are imaging "successfully" via SCCM, but the client is 5.00.8355.1000. The version it should be on is 5.00.9096.1000. Even letting the devices sit for extended periods of time does not have any impact. I have attempted to purge the client on the machine via a PS script provided by a Microsoft engineer and then using the client folder on the site server to do a clean install. The install appears to start, creates the ccmsetup folder under C:\Windows, etc. The installation then appears to stop and I check the logs (attached to the post).
I plan on getting with our Network team to see if there are any communication issues between us and this particular agency, but wanted to see if anybody has had or seen issues with the SCCM client not updating after imaging. Or, if you have had issues reinstalling the client manually.
Thanks in advance!
