Afternoon all

We are in a mixed environment at the moment with two SCCM installations - one SCCM2012sp1 supporting legacy Windows7 clients. And a new SCCMv1802 installation. We've moved most of our servers over to this as this is our preferred platform to support them. We won't be moving the legacy Win7 clients over, but new Win10 clients will be default go to the newer SCCM.

So I hit a snag - we've a few servers out there that act as distribution points for SCCM2012. So, is it possible to have the server itself pointing to new SCCMv1802 site for its management and etc, but let it act as a distribution point for the old SCCM2012?

Not something I really want to try until I can get a good idea if it'll work or not.

Thanks!

I don't think so. You mentioned that you have windows 7 clients that are talking to old SCCM setup. So the DP that is part of this old setup need to be present to serve Win 7 machines. For new SCCM setup, you can have a separate DP to server rest of the machines.
