SOLVED SCCM Boot Image stops at wpeinit

I just upgraded from SCCM 2012 R2 to version 1802. I am having issues with my boot image booting the machine only to show wpeinit executed and then leave me with a flashing command prompt. It never proceeds to ask for the password or show the list of task sequences available.
It seems that I remember running into this issue before with the previous version but I cannot remember what I ended up having to do to resolve it. Any assistance is greatly appreciated..

What is the version ADK that is installed ?. You might also create new boot images using the steps mentioned here.
