Hi.

I am trying to install sccm agent on servers that is not in AD.
I get following errors on the client:
Client is not assigned to a site. ClientIDManagerStartup 14.11.2024 08:28:52 6212 (0x1844)
RegTask: Failed to refresh site code. Error: 0x8000ffff ClientIDManagerStartup 14.11.2024 09:17:02 232 (0x00E8)
Unable to find lookup MP(s) in Registry, AD, DNS and WINS  LocationServices

On the SCCM server the network is in Boundaries.
It works fine with clients that is in AD, but we have servers that shall not be in AD, but we want to control those with SCCm.

Regards

Are you only using IP Ranges for boundaries? What command line did you use to install the client?

I think this is the actual error "Unable to find lookup MP(s) in Registry, AD, DNS and WINS". The workgroup server is unable to contact the AD, DNS and WINS server and that's why you're seeing that error. Make sure the server can contact those important servers.

We use IP-range for boudaries , IP-range is added to the boundaries.
I use this command: CCMSetup.exe /mp:sccm-srv.cc. SMSSITECODE=U06 DNSSUFFIX=sccm-srv.cc

So I thought that Your Site on SCCM is configured to communicate only with rour domain because Your server that you are trying to install the agent is out of the domain. So i thought that maybe it's an access problem from your ''outsite'' server to SCCM.. either as I am having second thoughs you are in a zone behind a firewall maybe and you need a specific rule?
