Hey all,

I just recently built this new environment for the company I am working for. I have never built one from the ground up and so far so good, but I am now working to configure the type of updates and OS's we support for the update services role. Windows 10 and 8.1 are not options in there and I can't seem to find much as to why.
Little background on the environment, we have a separate server housing sql, but wsus and config manager are installed on the same server
Current sccm console version is 5.0.8239.1502 and the site version is 5.00.8239.1000, as far as I can tell I am fully within the guidelines for windows 10 support, but something is missing?
SQL Server 2012 versions are below.
Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio 11.0.6248.0
Microsoft Analysis Services Client Tools 11.0.6248.0
Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) 6.3.9600.17415
Microsoft MSXML 3.0 6.0
Microsoft Internet Explorer 9.11.9600.18538
Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0.30319.42000
Operating System 6.3.9600

The config wizard wasnt completed in WSUS and I also have the SUSDB in my sql server.
I am running WSUS version 6.3.9600.16384, but when i go into options my only option is for windows server 2000 and windows xp which doesnt seem right since im running server 2012 r2?

Any help greatly appreciated

Thanks

I also havent synchronized the updates in the WSUS manager, do I need to do that first?

Ive got an error in the wsyncmgr.log that says:
Sync failed: WSUS update source not found on site STL. Please refer to WCM.log for configuration error details.. Source: getSiteUpdateSource SMS_WSUS_SYNC_MANAGER 1/24/2017 8:51:33 AM 4684 (0x124C)

ah, well if I go into WSUS I not see that windows 10 is there and I cannot make any changes because the server is synchornizing. So I suppose i was supposed to synchronize first and then it updates with applicable OS updates? New to WSUS as well lol

Yes, seems I never did an initial synchronization, so no OS systems were showing up under the products besides Windows XP and Windows 2000. Once i did that sync ALL os's are available now for patching.
