I updated my SCCM 2012 R2 expired evaluation version with valid licence key then I tried to upgrade to SP2 with latest MSDN TechNet copy of (SC2012_SP2_Configmgr_SCEP).

Reboot the Server and tried to connect Configuration Manager CAS Console to its SQL database and getting this error (Attached Screenshot 1), also all the SMS Services could not Start (Attached Screenshot 2).

I can select and connect to other Primary Site database from CAS Console.
I also tried to run the original Setup of SCCM 2012 R2 to reinstall Configuration Manager console but it didn't helped, any suggestions please?

Any errors in the event viewer ?. The SMS_EXECUTIVE service has issues, check the event viewer if there are any errors related to it. Did you try rebooting the server anytime ?

After reboot its the same issue, I tried to check DCOM permissions, Domain Admins and local Administrator have all the rights, attached event error messages.
Getting one of the event error as - License Activation (slui.exe) failed with the following error code: hr=0x800705B4

Are there any other errors in the event viewer related to the activation ?. Do you have proxy server setup in your environment ?

Hi Patel : Is the database on a remote server?
If yes, Then check the SPN record. Or let the sql sevices run under the local system account and the SPN record will update automatically. After that try to connect again

Most likely the SCCM Component Manager was the issue and also access Permissions between CAS and Primary, I reinstalled CAS and Primary with assigning proper Permissions for Install, everything works great now !!
