I have followed your step-by-step installation and configuration on SCCM 2012 R2, which have been really helpful. I have done config on the server site and devices are discovered, but could not get the client installed on a single on the workstations. I had gone back to the instructions and certain that i have not missed any from the link below. Any tip will be very much appreciated.

Many thanks

This may seem obvious but did you disable the firewall on the computers?
Have you tried manually installing the client using ccmsetup.exe?
This file should be located:
\\YOURSCCMSERVER\SMS_YOUR SITE\Client

Hi Saul, Please check the following,
1) A client is considered unmanaged when it is installed but not assigned to a site, or is assigned to a site but cannot communicate with a management point. Hence please check assigned site and Management point for client
2) Is your network location of the client falls within a boundary group enabled for site assignment, or the hierarchy is configured for a fallback site, the client is automatically assigned to that site without your having to specify a site code. Please check the site codes , network location and boundary group for that particular assignment.
3) You can also configure boudaries by following
  • IP subnet

  • Active Directory site

  • IP v6 prefix

  • IP address range

Yeap, i have disabled firewall on computers and tried manual install no luck.
When you tried installing the client agent manually did you see ccmsetup folder under Windows directory ?. What command are you using to install the client agents manually ?. Please provide an update.

So, for this, I just took the trouble of reinstalling SCCM from scratch and followed your step-by-step instructions to configure correctly..Many thanks, Prajwal.
