I just did a deployment of software that deployed to over 90 machines successfully. But when I make a query to try to capture all devices with that software and version, it only pulls in 19 devices.
All files and folders for the software update from old version to new have the exact same names and folder structures. I've tried a compliance baseline but it's not working either.
How can I get a query to pull all the devices that have this software and version? I included the correct Software Inventory settings from what I know.

Here is my query:
select distinct SMS_R_System.ResourceId, SMS_R_System.ResourceType, SMS_R_System.Name, SMS_R_System.SMSUniqueIdentifier, SMS_R_System.ResourceDomainORWorkgroup, SMS_R_System.Client, SMS_G_System_INSTALLED_SOFTWARE.ProductName, SMS_G_System_INSTALLED_SOFTWARE.ProductVersion from SMS_R_System inner join SMS_G_System_INSTALLED_SOFTWARE on SMS_G_System_INSTALLED_SOFTWARE.ResourceID = SMS_R_System.ResourceId where SMS_G_System_INSTALLED_SOFTWARE.ProductName like "My%Software" and SMS_G_System_INSTALLED_SOFTWARE.ProductVersion = "5.9.1"

Hi,

To clarify for you, the SCCM Software Inventory feature is not used to inventory the installed applications..., It's for another need.

In the clients settings, do you have one or more?

Do you deployed two different versions x86 & x64 for this application?

On the console, right click to the concerned device collection > Notification > Run Hardware Inventory cycle. Check then the dataldr.log log file located on the site server : "SCCM install directory\Microsoft Configuration Manager\Logs".

The problem I'm having with this now is that on computers in just one separate domain, I'm getting Access is denied. I've given my SA accounts admin rights in that domain but it's still failing.

Do you have 2 separate SCCM platforms or once?
You must have an account that has privileges on your SCCM site database to run the SQL query with SSMS tool.

My accounts didn't have sufficient rights to that domain. Once that was in place they cleared up. But thank you for all the help. I was doubting myself on the hardware inventory.

If its a child/parent domain, on the SQL server, give your account a SYSADMIN role, then you can access remotely with SSMS to the remote SQL server and execute queries.

If you have two separate forests, you have to configure two (or one) way Forest Trust between them.
