I recently have moved to PXE booting without WDS, I have been loving the speed and reliability so far!! Unfortunately, when attempting to restore my classroom machines by sending a required Task Sequence to a group to PXE boot and re-image (Completely remote, just Wake-on-LAN and typically re-images during the boot process). I see that the machines are talking to SCCM and getting the boot file, but never entering into the boot image running the task sequence.

Am I forgetting something with the setup of PXE without WDS, or am I losing a feature moving in this direction? HELP! =/
SCCM Version:
SCCM 19025.00.8790.1000 YES

Solution
With the machines not automatically going into PXE by pressing Enter, or F12 the log files are not being utilized. I can image the machines without issue if I press F12 or Enter, then select the Task Sequence. I noticed when WDS was utilized it would populate the GUID and recognize the machine and instantly PXE boot on its own then image, of course after setting the task sequence as required to the Computer Group.

I was curious does SCCM's PXE without WDS support PXE without user intervention (pressing the Enter or F12 key) and proceeding to the required task sequence scheduled?

I noticed some of what you mention is what is also mentioned in the reddit post...

Unfortunately, the rename to the PXEboot.com file this does not start the PXE boot Required task sequence still yet.

Sorry for any confusion.
