Hey all, have a weird situation here. We added a new SUP server to SCCM(2107). Added it as a secondary and it would sync fine with the old SUP server and did so for about a week or so. We removed the old SUP server, was on older OS (2012r2), and made the new SUP(2019) the primary and only SUP server. Logs showed good communication to the new SUP server at this point. Next we changed the IP address of the new SUP server and gave it the IP address of the old SUP server. Made changes in DNS and everything like a good sys admin should do. Waited on next sync to happen and it failed. Checked logs and apparently after changing the IP it broke communication to the new SUP server from SCCM. It just did not see it anymore so we had to switch back to the old one and now everything is working as it should again.
Did we go wrong in changing that IP address? It was only to keep from having to change firewall entries. Or could the version differences caused the issue?
