When I go through the setup wizard for MECM 2303, I enter the FQDN of my separate SQL server and things continue as normal. It finds the drive letters on the SQL server for the database and logs. When the wizard runs the final install checks it fails on the "dedicated SQL instance" check. MECM server is 2022 and the SQL server is 2019 with SQL Server 2019. Any ideas?

That error likely means that you already have ConfigMgr installed on that SQL server.
