Hello,

My SCCM server (version 1710) is no longer working properly and I can not recover from the main site. I decide to install a new server and resume all my procedures. My question is to know about my AD (which has not changed) if I still have to take back all the installation prerequisites of SCCM:

Create a new container on CN = System (called for example SCCM, like the former I named it System Management), to make the delegation of control of the container by adding the new server and to extend again the schema AD?

Or, can I still use the old container (called System Management) and delegate control by adding the new server without necessarily extending the AD schema?

Thank you for your guidance.

If you are installing a new SCCM / ConfigMgr server, you only need to install it with new site code. Do not use the old site code. You need not create system management container as it is already created. You must grant new SCCM computer account full permissions on system management container. Schema is extended only once, so don't extend schema when you setup new site.

Thank you very much for your answer and orientations. Another question that comes to my mind is, can I use the same database that used by the old server or the good practice is to use a new database ?
