PENDING Failed to install vcredist on DP After upgrade to 2211

Hi,
After upgrading to SCCM 2211, all our Site servers got this error when trying to upgrade. In distmgrlog

"Failed to install vcredist on DP <Server Name>, ErrorCode - 8, Hresult - 0x0 SMS_DISTRIBUTION_MANAGER 2023-04-03 10:57:55 AM 7352 (0x1CB8)"
In Distribution Point configuration status we get error:

Distribution Manager failed to install distribution point DP.
Possible cause: Distribution manger does not have sufficient rights to the computer
Solution: Verify that the site server computer account is an administrator on the distribution point computer.

We use Cortex but I removed the software and same issue.

I see threads where it says to change the site server account to an account that is admin on the DP server. Do I need to do anything else?

I've been looking at that thread, in particular, all morning to understand it better. Right now I added an account that is local admin on the DP server but it's still failing. Does it take time for it to recognize the "new" site server installation account?

Does reinstalling the DP role help?. The solution is not known to me.

I removed the DP role from the server in "Servers and Site Systems Roles" and waited a couple of minutes. I reinstalled the role. Same error. Wondering if it needs time to process. I know the account I'm using is in the local admin group.

Hello,
I had the same issue and I resolved it by doing this:
I changed tie "Site System Installer Account" to be a user with full admin instead of the server's computer.
Once it was updated I flipped it back. Then I also changed the date on the self-signed certificate with some time just to make sure. When you do these changes you should reboot the DP, but since you reboot it, then I went to trigger the reinstallation/repair of the vcredist manually from the path and then reboot. After that it can successfully update and it is working again. You can check the distmgr.log file to see the progression.

The fix was what you said above. Changing the "Site System Installer Account" to a user with full admin and then flipped it back after.
