Hello, firstly, ive been following your step by step guide and its pretty good, kudos and keep it up. Those that are new to the tech will definitely benefit!

Now onto my problem :)
Im trying to add a .wim image to the software library, sounds like a straight forward thing to do, right?

so i captured a win 7 image, and it placed the .wim on a network drive, that everyone can access, even the sccm server itself has permissions.

however, when i go to add the image, i get the error 'the specified path does not contain a valid wim file or you do not have permission to access it. specify a valid path'

now, i have double checked the permissions, i can access the folder, locally and remotely, the server has full control, system account is also in there.

I get this error line in SMSprov.log

can anyone help? :(

Try this, add NT Authority\System account in all your shares and give it full access. Let me know if it works fine.

Hello Prajwal,

I have added the machine to the permissions with full control. On the share it shows CM01$ (SCCM primary site server) . Ive tried adding NT Authority\System but this is not found. I believe as in a domain environment, I must add the server as mentioned?

@Yahyaa123 - Is this still an issue ?. Have you sorted this ?.
Hello prajwal, thanks for the follow up. I got fed up in the end and re-installed my vm. This time I was careful and made sure to set the permissions correctly . And now it works!!
I believe it was definitely something to do with the permissions of the server not being able to access the store where the image was stored.
