Hi all!

I am new at this SCCM world, so please forgive my noobieness on it. Just need a little help understanding failures of software updates on servers. I have been deploying MS patches the past few weeks and I've had 2 servers that had at least 1 update that failed to installed. Of course SCCM does not explain the reason why. So, can anyone explain to me why would an update failed, but not others? I am trying to understand why that happens.

Also, I've had an update failed on the patching day, but was installed several days later, with server pending reboot, so it seems like SCCM re-evaluates the patch and installs it a day or two after it had failed. If I could get help/explanation on why this happens, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
ET

I have experienced similar issues while I deployed the updates to client machines (windows 7 most of the times), could you provide more info on the update that failed to install ?. I need the KB info.

Thanks for the reply Mr. Desai. I am deploying updates on servers and I had this particular, W2k8R2, that had this update that failed:
