Hi,

I have ConfigMgr 2002 and trying to set email notification for the request of application installation on client and i am Using email notification feature first time on SCCM. I tried a lot by using different methods but still facing error during Test Attempt SMTP failed, Connection to Server is failed. My email server is Exchange 2016 On premises. Both exchange and SCCM is in same domain. Please let me know how i can fix this. I already turned on the approval feature.

Thanks

Hi @imz,

Do your ConfigMgr and Exchange servers in the same VLAN? If not, make sure that there is no firewall restrictions.
There is also some prerequisites to send email notifications, see the following:
See also the following guide:
Hello Youssef,

They are not in the same VLAN but they are in the same network, SCCM can ping and communicate with Exchanger Server properly. I checked all methods but still no success i also checked your guide links but still no luck , don't know what is the issue.

I checked with both options Specify and Account & None (Anonymous Account).
25, 465 and 587 ports are tested. My SMTP is 587.

Do you are using SMTP connection with other solution ? (Printing, Syslog, Alerts etc)
If the SMTP configuration is OK on ConfigMgr side, you may have to check with your Exchange administrator.

Yes printing, syslog alerts are using SMTP, I can access Exchange Admin Center, please let me know which configuration i have to check in Exchange.

Sorry, I don't have much knowledge about Exchange but you can check the configuration in the Printing server or Syslog then compare them with ConfigMgr.
