I'm inheriting an SCCM environment with a weird issue; I have a distribution point which has all content on it successfully, but the status is reporting error because there are "-1" packages in an error state:

I have no idea what repair operation would fix this, all content is distributed and validated and there are no errors on the details page, it's just showing as a big red X on my status point. I'm stumped!

What do the logs say? What do the component status say? What happens when you redeploy the content?

The logs don't show any errors, and I don't know what to redeploy as all content is successful. I think this is a situation where some old content was deleted in a cleanup, and somehow a counter that shouldn't have decremented was.

I am wondering where that counter calculates from, and are there entries I should look into in the DB?

For some time, turn off the content validation on the DP. Next, go to Monitoring workspace and from the content distribution, find out what package is missing on the DP. The distmgr.log on the DP should tell me if there are any errors for the specific package.

That's the weird thing, no content is missing, we checked the counts and they're all there. That's why the status of "Error: -1" is so weird, the count of packages with errors is -1, and that's clearly nonsensical.

Yes that error makes no sense. If you're really concerned with that error, remove all the content from the DP and see if the error still persists. I have had this issue in the past (SCCM 2012 R2) but I resolved it by removing all the content and redistributing it back.
