I am new to SCCM and have followed a number of threads on this site to guide me through various processes. We are using an evaluation version of SCCM Current Branch 1606 to explore OS Deployment and Deployment of applications to our domain PCs. I am running the following:

Virtual Windows Server 2012 R2
SQL Server 2008 R2 (on same box)
Site Server and Site Database on the same box with the following additional roles: Distribution Point, Management Point, Service Connection Point
Standalone Primary Site and Boundaries and Boundary Groups have been created based on IP address ranges discovered from AD
All site status is displaying green

I have successfully deployed various OS images to a collection containing 2 test PCs using a task sequence via both PXE and Bootable Media. As part of the task sequence, the CM Client is installed on the PCs at the last step. I am now looking to move onto deploying applications to device collections, but have been unsuccessful and require help on where to look and which logs to interrogate etc.

The following steps were taken:
1) Deploy Windows 7 image to Collection containing 2 test PCs using task sequence.
2) CM Client package is installed as last step of OSD Task Sequence.
3) Post OSD, join PCs to domain and CM Client automatically assigns site code, management point and self-signed client certificate.
4) Windows msi was added to Applications within CM console, content was successfully distributed to DP and then deployed to Device Collection (which contains the two test PCs) as available install.

As a result, the available application does not appear in Software Center on either PC.

Possible issues:
1) When monitoring this deployment within CM Console, it has unknown status when all other previous deployments show success.
2) CM Client components on both PCs all show installed, except Software Distribution Agent component which shows Enabled. Actions tab only displays Machine policy and user policy retrieval.

Would anyone be able to point me in the right direction to determine whether the CM Client has installed properly on my PCs, the client is talking to the Management Point correctly or if the issue may lie with the application deployment itself or my site configuration as a whole?

Site Server and Test PCs have Windows Firewall turned off and no other third party firewall installed (as this is for testing). Apologies if this appears a bit vague as I am very new to SCCM, but do not know where to start. I can provide as much info as possible, upload screenshots/logs etc

Thanks in advance

In CM Console, PCs have Unknown Online Status - could this possibly mean communication issues with MP?
