Silly question but I have to ask it. Is this laptop is a domain joined laptop? can you right click and run as admin and make sure you specify the domain\username and then your password, also make sure the account you are using is one of the allowed accounts on SCCM

Hi, Yeah the laptop is Domain Joined and i am right clicking with my Admin Account.
I have even added my Non Admin account into admin on sccm but same problem

our firewall is very locked down

am i right in saying that the sccm console needs the high wmi rpc dynamic ports opened ?

The console only needs port 135 which I believe is an open port by default. Can you install the console on any other computer and try to access.

One of the common cases is a corrupt installation, try re-installing the console from the configuration manager .iso and give it another shot.

Have a look at this link might shed some light on your issue.

for a test turn off the firewall, does it work? if so you have your answer that ports are blocked, if not then there is another issue.

Hi All

I have turned firewall off from the server and the client but makes no difference it is still not working

I have tried to telnet to sccm server over port 135 using putty but it fails and says "network error : software caused connection abort"

I will have to check with my security team to see if they can see port 135 dropping

Thanks

you need to get the Security Team to check the network traffic from your pc to the sccm server to check what other ports are blocked.

Hi All, i have had the network guys to see what is being blocked

When i access the console from my machine they are seeing the high tcp ports being dropped. I believe these are the high dynamic rpc ports that need to be opened. I will try and get the guys to open these and will give it a try

Thanks
