I have the strange behaviour that many of my devices, but not all, have recently stopped installing updates.
I noticed this because the updates for Defender were old and the users received a pop-up.
I compared the devices with each other and found that values were missing in the registry.
Only when I add the value HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\DisableDualScan = 1 to the registry are updates recognised and also installed very quickly. Missing Windows updates, Edge updates and also the virus signatures.
The following values are also sometimes missing:
SetPolicyDrivenUpdateSourceForDriverUpdates
SetPolicyDrivenUpdateSourceForFeatureUpdates
SetPolicyDrivenUpdateSourceForOtherUpdates
SetPolicyDrivenUpdateSourceForQualityUpdates
Why the values are present on some devices and not on others is not yet clear to me.
I have also not set these values via GPO etc.
Do any of you have this problem or does anyone know of it?
What is the best way to set these values for all devices?
