For security reasons, Windows laptops in our environment are provided of a BIOS password.
When we allow driver updates to be installed through Windows updates, we experience that BIOS updates are being installed aswell. Users don't know the BIOS password, so when a BIOS update is being installed, after reboot they get a screen asking for the BIOS password.
Is there any way we can allow driver updates, but exclude BIOS updates? I read there is a feature on the way that will allow administrator to approve specific updates, but meanwhile I can't figure out anything else then to disable driver updates being available through windows updates.
The downside to blocking these driver updates, is that users also don't receive drivers for their home printers.
Any advice on this situation?
