PENDING Application deployment - Pre deploy software

I have a device collection which I want to deploy a large application to.
Presently I have created a deployment with the an available date (today) and a required date (1 week later).
The idea is to have the device collection download the content before the deadline. When the deadline is reached, the content would already be locally present hence no need to download.

Question:
1. What is the best way to achieve this?
2. I noticed that there is an option for "Pre-deploy software to user's primary deice".
- My collection does not contain users, only computers.
- Anyone ever used this option with device collections?

Pre-deploy software to this users primary device - When this option is selected, software will automatically deploy to a device that has a User Affinity defined that matches a User in the collection that the Application is deployed to. I don't think it will work for devices.

What is the size of the application ?.

Application is about 5GB.
Curious, what happens when you check that option and deploy to a device collection.
