NEW 1906 upgrade

I am currently running SCCM 1806 and am planning to upgrade to 1906.
With previous upgrades, I have updated ADK and MDT along side with SCCM.

Question:
Would version 54259 (current version of of MDT) work with version 1906 of SCCM?

Is there a reason to use MDT ? We stopped using MDT ever since we rolled out SCCM in production

Been using MDT task sequences with SCCM for OS deployment.

As said here, the MDT build 8456 supports at most Configuration Manager 1810, Windows 10 1809 and Windows Server 2019.
