SOLVED ADR - Auto Deployment Rule download failed Error 5

I set up ADR's last month and they seemed to run fine. This month the ADR created the Software Update Group but it shows an error "Auto Deployment Rule download failed." When I check the Software Update Group, the newest updates (2024-06) are missing. I checked ruleengine.log and see Error = 5, which I suspect is the issue but I cannot figure out why.


Things I have tried:

• Deleted SUG - checked the "Preview" of the ADR and it DOES show the 2024-06 updates - re-ran the ADR and 2024-06 updates are still missing
• Downloading the update outside of SCCM works fine
• If I find the update in All Software Updates, I can right click and Download and it downloads fine and I can add it to a Software Update Group manually
• Checked permissions on the directory the update is downloading to and SYSTEM and the SCCM Admin have permissions to read/write

What am I missing?

It is also worth mentioning that the Deployment Packages are stored on a different server than SCCM/WSUS is installed on.

I ended up finally finding a fix for this based on https://forums.prajwaldesai.com/threads/auto-deployment-rule-download-failing.3031/post-20374. I gave my SCCM computer account read/write access to the Deployment Packages directory on the second server and I am no longer getting those errors.
