Issue Description:

  • Device Collection Name: R70 Device Collection
  • Number of Devices in Collection: 150
  • Issue: Despite having 150 devices in the collection, when attempting to deploy the BIOS update, only 2 devices show as "Required" for the update, and the remaining 148 devices are marked as "Unknown."
  • Deployment Status: The BIOS update package has been deployed, but only 2 devices show as compliant, and the other 148 devices are still in the "Unknown" state.
  • Logs Checked: All relevant logs have been reviewed, and no issues were found. Client health on all devices appears to be in good condition.
  • Access to Devices: I do not have direct access to the devices to troubleshoot further.

Steps Taken to Troubleshoot:
  1. Reviewed SCCM Logs: Logs such as UpdatesDeployment.log, ClientIDManagerStartup.log, and LocationServices.log were checked for errors, but no issues were found related to the update deployment or client health.
  2. Checked Device Connectivity: All devices are able to communicate with the SCCM server, and no DNS or network issues were detected.
  3. Verified Maintenance Windows: Checked the configuration of maintenance windows, and there were no conflicts found that would prevent the update deployment.
  4. Checked Collection Membership: Ensured all 150 devices are correctly included in the R70 device collection, and no devices were excluded.
  5. Client Health Check: All devices reported as healthy with no errors in the client status.

Suggestions for further troubleshooting steps that may help identify the issue.
