KB5046740 Update for Windows 11 24H2 (OS Build 26100.2454) Released

The November 2024 non-security preview release KB5046740 update is now available for Windows 11, version 24H2. Installing the KB5046740 will update the OS build to 26100.2454. To check for the latest updates, go to Settings > Windows Update and select Check for updates.

New Features in KB5046740 Update for Windows 11 24H2​

The following are the new features included with the KB5046740 November 2024 update:

1. Personalized experiences are now available in the pre-packaged experience.
2. The system tray in Windows 11 24H2 now shows a shortened date and time.
3. The notification bell icon might not show if you have set the toggle for “Do not disturb” to on.
4. When you right-click apps that you have pinned to the Start menu, jump lists will appear for apps that have jump lists.
5. KB5046740 update adds a new section for touchscreen edge gestures.
6. After you install this update, the IME toolbar will disappear when apps are in full-screen mode. This occurrence solely occurs when the IME toolbar is in use and characters in Chinese or Japanese are typed.
7. With the Phone link configured on your Windows 11 24H2 PC, you can share content to an Android device from the context menu in File Explorer and on the desktop.
8. New forward, backward, outward, and inward direction options to the wave effect. The Gradient effect now has the Forward direction option.
9. If you hold Shift and CTRL and click a jump list item, this opens the item as an admin.
10. Improves the speech-to-text and text-to-speech features in Windows.

Improvements and Fixes in Windows 11 24H2 KB5046740 Update​
