Hi,

I have started receiving failed to run task sequence error 0x80004005 in my sccm 1702 environment. After looking into smsts.log I have noticed that client was not connecting with MP. I have tried by restarting IIS and server. I have also reinstall MP role with no luck.

Can nay one suggest me what could be the problem and respective solution for it?

Thanks in advance. Find attached smsts.log file.

Hi Vaibhav, i am unable to see the log files or any attachment, that's why i asked to upload. Can you a zip file, add the log file and then upload ?.

How about this thread - https://prajwaldesai.com/community/...-policy-when-pxe-booting-with-sccm-2012.1231/
Log files won't lie and I also see "QueryMPLocator: no valid MP locations are received". Check boundary and boundary group configuration as well.

Hi Prajwal,

I have gone through this and checked my boundaries they are all set. Find the attached screenshots. My client is getting IP 10.10.160.x ip which is covered under boundary i can ping my MP from client machine.

What's the subnet mask and is that supplied correctly ?. Try creating IP address range and check if that works.

subnet mask 10.10.0.0 and it is supplied correctly in the boundary and this was working a week ago. I have created a new IP range boundary with 10.10.160.100 to 10.10.160.150.

I am not sure what else i have to configure/change so that pxe client will pick ip from this boundary. Please guide.

If you have created a new IP range 10.10.160.100 - 10.10.160.150, created a boundary group and assigned a valid DP and then if the client machine gets an IP address 10.10.160.x by DHCP server, the client should talk to the DP and download the boot image.

Well I modified the existing boundary which was on IP subnet to IP range and gave this IP range, however, my client machine still gets IP out of that range (within the subnet) and I can ping my sccm server. And keep getting the same error.

Hi

I did fix this issue but end up with another. The OSD task now failing at OSD computer name. and seeing some of the errors in the smsts log. Please find attached log and see if you have come across the similar issue.

Are you running a custom frontend script to specify computer name ?. If yes recheck this script once.

Could not find CCM install folder. Don't use ccmerrors.dll
