SOLVED Error 0X80072EE2 while publishing updates

Hi,

I created Automatic Deployment Rule for publishing updates to Windows 10 client machines. I am getting this error code 0X80072EE2. Network connection: Windows Update Agent encountered transient network connection-related errors.

SCCM 1702 version I am using.

I checked network connectivity between clients and server. It is fine. There is no issue in network connectivity.

Please find attached %windir%\windowsupdate.log file for reference and screenshot of the error.

Error 0x80072ee2 translates to ERROR_INTERNET_TIMEOUT. As you have mentioned that connectivity between clients and servers is fine, I will skip that. Looking at the log file, I see this " Failed to get Network Cost info from NLM, assuming network is NOT metered, error = 0x80240037" Have you configured Windows not to download updates via 'metered' connections ?.

Thanks for your reply. Actually, one of the rules of my hardware based firewall blocking some traffic. Once I fixed it, this issue got resolved.
