I am in the need to deploy out a number of Microsoft Surface Laptop 2's. I already have a SCCM (Version 1910 ConfigMgr) Windows 10 deployment task sequence that I use to image a number of HP desktops and laptops. For Microsoft Surface devices, since it already has "clean" install of Windows 10 (no bloatware like you tend to get on HP, Dell, Lenovo, etc), I am interested if there would be a method to make copy my existing Windows 10 deployment task sequence (currently installs Windows 10, applies drivers, our required applications, power settings, installs Windows 10 updates, config manager client, bitlocker, etc), but sub out the part that wipes the drive and installs Windows 10, drivers etc. I basically want the same task sequence but rather format the drive and install Windows 10, simply convert the already installed Windows 10 on the Surface to our Enterprise license, bring the OS up to Windows 10 1909, and then proceed with the task sequence that we already use for our existing Windows 10 deployments.
We currently do not use MDT for our deployments, or have MDT integrated into SCCM. I'm looking at a quick and easy way to just do what we are already doing to our fleet of HP devices, but modify our existing Win10 task sequence to support Microsoft Surface devices.
