My neighbors' son passed away and he asked me if it is possible to get into his computer and pull of the photos from the computer. I have done this on a Windows 7 laptop with Ophcrack but it seems no longer works on latest Windows 10 build. What is the right method to get into the computer without reinstall?

If there is another user account with Administrator permissions on the device, ask them to sign in and reset your password.
Else check if there is a Password Reset Disk created for the specific PC you are trying to access, you can insert that disk and follow the steps in the wizard to reset your password.

Prajwal Desai is right,log into computer again by using another account on the computer.The password of the locked account can be reset or removed.
Steps for using another accounts on computer:
1.open start munu.
2.now go to the control panel
3.open user account
4.open administrator
Then the login password can be changed by you.
