I am looking for a help to build a new VM Windows Server 2025 Data center through SCCM.
Prepare and evaluate Windows Server 2025 in the Keylane Cloud environment to determine its suitability for future adoption as a standard OS.
Scope:
Document findings and recommendations for potential adoption of Windows Server 2025 at a later stage.
The script is more than just a VM creation script—it automates most of the server provisioning workflow:
Evaluate Windows Server 2025 as candidate for future standard
Goal:Prepare and evaluate Windows Server 2025 in the Keylane Cloud environment to determine its suitability for future adoption as a standard OS.
Scope:
- Perform limited test deployments of WS2025 in controlled environments.
- Assess compatibility with core infrastructure components (monitoring, backup, antivirus, patching, etc.).
- No impact on current production standards.
- Validate technical readiness (installation, templates, automation).
- Evaluate integration with Keylane tooling and operational procedures.
- Identify any blockers or required changes.
Document findings and recommendations for potential adoption of Windows Server 2025 at a later stage.
The script is more than just a VM creation script—it automates most of the server provisioning workflow:
- Creates the VM in VMware using PowerCLI.
- Allocates CPU, memory, disks, and networking.
- Sets the VMware Guest OS type (GuestId).
- Registers the machine in SCCM.
- Creates SCCM OSD device variables (IP address, subnet, gateway, etc.).
- Starts the VM so it boots into SCCM OSD.
